We had a few hours in Nashville before game time, which we used to visit two Halls of Fame and the State Capitol. The picture above is Broadway street looking east from near the Sommet Center.
Country Music Hall of Fame
If you like country music, you will enjoy this museum which contains a detailed history of country music with particular attention to its stars. There's a new display dedicated to Brenda Lee, and a huge section devoted to the Williams family, with emphasis on the tragic life of Hank Williams. Other exhibits include old country movies and famous instruments - Johnny Cash's guitar is shown below. The museum is two floors and self-guided, at the end enter the actual Hall of Fame which is similar to Cooperstown with plaques all around. At $20, it's a bit much for what you get, and you may enjoy the other music-related attractions more.
Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame
Located in the Sommet Center, this small museum provides detailed accounts of all famous Tennessee athletes, whether they were born here or played here. It's only $3 and the place is totally empty (we spent an hour there before the game and nobody else was there the whole time). Great info for sports geeks. Below is a football autographed by the Titans players and coaches involved in the Music City Miracle, a play that still leaves Buffalo Bills fans bitter.
